Assistant Procurement Officer

Job Purpose

As the Assistant Procurement Officer at the International Christian School in Hong Kong, you will be joining a team of seasoned and dynamic Christian professionals who will welcome your skills and knowledge of administration of resources and compliance of workflow and policies, with thoroughness and accuracy to contribute to the school’s organizational success.

The job holder will report duty in September 2024.

What you will do:

  • Assist the Procurement Manager to handle, understand, review daily and update purchase requests pertaining to school operations.

  • Responsible for sourcing supplies, price comparison and negotiations, developing supplier base and long term partnerships.

  • Ensure the arrival, delivery and storage of inventory and supplies are properly managed. Payment invoices and receipts are signed and filed in accordance with internal protocols.

  • Explore alternative solutions to sourcing and new product knowledge through professional development initiatives.

  • Perform general administrative duties such as stocktaking, petty cash maintenance, customs clearance, update reports and asset management, etc.

We are looking for someone with:

  • At least 3 years’ relevant working experience in office administration and purchasing/procurement. Experience gained in a school environment will be preferred but not essential.

  • Higher diploma or above in business administration, purchasing and supply or related discipline. Fresh graduates who demonstrate good attitude and willingness to learn will also be considered.

  • Basic knowledge and experience in drawing quotations, tendering, customs declarations, and/or inventory management will be an advantage.

  • Strong ownership and responsibility to work independently and as a teamplayer.

  • Fluent in spoken and written English and Chinese.

  • Excellent communicator with interpersonal skills to deal with different management levels.

  • Good at negotiation to achieve a win-win situation with stakeholders.

  • Well versed in Microsoft Office apps and experience in picking up new systems and modules.

  • Be fully cognizant to work outside of normal office hours for handling receipt of orders as and when required.
