Accounting Assistant (Maternity Cover)

Job Purpose

As an Accounting Assistant, you will contribute your accounting payable and receivable knowledge with thoroughness and accuracy to support the Finance & Procurement Office of ICS.

This is a maternity leave replacement from June 17 to October 31, 2024.

What you will do:

  • Handle and maintain accounts payable functions, including but not limited to

    • Validating suppliers’ invoices supported with proper documentation

    • Preparing payment requisitions

    • Reconciling statement of accounts with vendors; setting up vendor records and maintain accurate and detailed records in accounting system

  • Provide support to accounts receivable functions on an as-needed basis

  • Assist in month-end closing schedules and reporting, bank account reconciliations

  • Handle cash in advance and returns

  • Keep and maintain systematic filing and record systems related to accounts payable and payments, and fixed assets for monitoring depreciation.

  • Assist Procurement Team to handle, understand and review daily purchase requisitions conducive to school operations and internal compliance.

  • Provide good customer service and prompt response to enquiries from stakeholders (e.g. suppliers) and co-workers.

We are looking for someone with:

  • Diploma or above in Accounting or related disciplines.

  • At least 2 years’ working experience in general accounting and payable functions. Exposure to full-set accounting will be an advantage.

  • Knowledge in accounting systems. Attentive to details and accuracy, with proven problem solving and analytical skills.

  • Good command of spoken and written English and Cantonese. Good communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and in a professional manner. High level of integrity and a strong sense of responsibility.

  • Proficient in MS Word/Excel applications. Ability to multitask and work under pressure and tight deadlines.

  • A teamplayer, self-starter and strong initiative to learn.
