Head of Schools

Revd Nick Seward was born in Zambia and grew up in Papua New Guinea. He is an ordained Christian pastor with a passion for Christian education, having been a Chaplain, Housemaster, teacher of Theology, Economics and Mathematics and sports coach for over two decades in schools. He was Headmaster of a Christian school unique in the UK for having both British and US curricula for fourteen years. He holds a Master of Education degree from Buckingham University, alongside MA and BA degrees in Theology from Durham University, and a Bachelor of Engineering Degree from Imperial College London. He is married to Hannah, and they have four children, three of whom are at ICS.

Mr. Albert Yeung

Mr. Albert Yeung is a seasoned Human Resources professional with over 30 years of extensive experience in Hong Kong, the Greater Bay Area, and the Asia Pacific region. Before joining ICS, Albert held senior human resources leadership roles in multinational organizations or listed companies in the educational, real estate, technology, and industrial sectors, including Pearson Group plc., Link REIT, and British Oxygen Group plc. Albert holds a Bachelor of Social Science degree from The Chinese University of Hong Kong. He is an Associate of The Institute of Chartered Secretaries & Administrators. He is married to Anna with two children. He has attended the Tsuen Wan Church of Christian and Missionary Alliance since studying in secondary school.

Ms. Christina Daniel

Ms. Christina Daniel has been dedicated to education for over 10 years, with a diverse background that began as a missionary. Her career has included roles as a science teacher, educational consultant, and Dean of Co-Curricular Activities in the United States, India, and South Korea. Christina holds a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Regent University and a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Lee University. Her extensive experience and passion for education have made a significant impact across multiple countries.

Ms. Hilda Wong

Director of External Relations

Ms. Hilda Wong is Director of External Relations at International Christian School Hong Kong, where she leads strategic communications, admissions initiatives, and stakeholder engagement. She oversees comprehensive strategies to advance ICS's position as a leading Christian international school in Hong Kong while fostering meaningful connections across the school community.

With over 30 years of executive leadership experience in business development and marketing, her extensive career spans multiple sectors including real estate, retail, telecommunications, utilities and non-profit, where she has driven innovation and excellence in marketing strategy and customer experience. Her entrepreneurial success includes founding an e-commerce venture that later listed on the GEM board.  Prior to joining ICS, she served as Head of Customer Experience, Marketing and Corporate Branding at Link REIT, Asia's largest real estate investment trust, where she spearheaded transformative initiatives in brand development, strategic portfolio marketing, digital transformation and community engagement. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Quantitative Economics and Studio Art from Tufts University, a Master's degree in Architectural Conservation from the University of Hong Kong, and completed the Cultural Heritage Management Postgraduate Program at HKU SPACE.

Ms. Wong's approach combines strategic vision with mission-driven leadership, particularly in strengthening institutional relationships and advancing stakeholder engagement. Her commitment to nurturing young lives and building lasting community impact aligns with ICS's mission of providing excellence in education, rooted in Christian values.

Mr. Keith Welch

Mr. Keith Welch has worked in education since 1997, beginning his career as an EAL teacher in U.S. public schools. He joined the ICS community starting in 2003 as a Grade 4 teacher and began serving as Upper Elementary Principal in 2005.

Prior to beginning his career in education, Keith trained for Chrisitan ministry, receiving an undergraduate degree in Bible from Zion Bible College. He earned a Master's degree in Education from the University of Southern Maine and engaged in postgraduate work in Educational Leadership at Bethel University in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Keith is joined by his wife Vanessa and has 4 children, one alum from the Class of 2016 and 3 that presently attend ICS.

Mr. Kiel Nation

Dr. Kiel Nation serves as High School Principal at ICS, where he brings a unique blend of educational leadership and pastoral experience to guide the high school community.

Kiel's journey into secondary education began in South Korea in 2015 before joining ICS in 2019. At ICS, he led the Bible Department as chair for four years prior to his appointment as High School Principal. His early career spanned the tech industry as an instructional designer, account manager, and marketer, while serving churches bi-vocationally as a pastor and church planter.

His academic credentials include a Doctor of Ministry in Theology and Apologetics from Liberty University, a PGCE in Secondary Religious Education from Sunderland University, a Master of Arts in Theology from Winebrenner Theological Seminary, and a Bachelor of Arts in Advanced Biblical Studies from Kentucky Christian University.

Kiel is joined by his wife Ashley, whom he married in 2013, and their daughter who was born in Hong Kong in 2021.

Mr. Phillip Taylor

Dean of Curriculum and Instruction

Mr Phillip Taylor is a career educator with 29 years of experience in schools and curriculums around Australia and the world. With a Masters degree in Writing and Literature, a Bachelor of Education specialising in Secondary Education, and a Bachelor of English with Honours, Phillip has a proven record of excellent leadership and practice in academics, curriculum, and assessment, academic leadership, pastoral care, student support services, community relations, professional development, operational management, and classroom teaching.

He is a genuinely caring leader with a deep understanding of educational theory, design, and pedagogy. A leader who prioritises the well-being of his colleagues and the students in his care. Phillip has lived in Hong Kong for three years with his wife, Ainsley, and two of his children are at ICS, His third daughter is in her final year of elementary teacher training in Perth, Australia, where his beautiful granddaughter also lives. Overall, whether in leadership or the classroom, Phillip is a passionate educator with a genuine love for Christ and for teaching.

Mr. Richard Lam

Mr. Richard Lam joined ICS in 2019 as the Chief Financial Officer overseeing the operations of three departments, including Finance & Procurement, Facilities Management, and IT & AV. Richard holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Glamorgan in the United Kingdom. He is a fellow member of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. He also holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of South Australia. Before joining ICS, Richard had extensive exposure in the manufacturing and commercial sectors since the early 90s, with mainly Greater China and Asia Pacific coverage. He also earned a Master's in Counseling from Monash University in Australia and has been providing professional counseling services to individuals and couples in his church since 2016. Richard is joined by his wife, Alice, a local middle school chemistry teacher. They have a son who is working in the banking sector.

Mr. Will Schroeder

Will Schroeder has been dedicated to education since 2011, initially teaching elementary and middle school health and physical education at Saipan Community School in Saipan. During his time there, he met his wife, Rachel. In 2016, Will moved to Hong Kong, where he spent two years teaching elementary school physical education before advancing to middle school and becoming the Head of Department.

William is also a committee member for the PHASE AP conference, the largest health and physical education conference in Asia, which takes place annually. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Health and Physical Education from Northwestern College in Iowa.

Mrs. Phebe Fong

Mrs. Phebe Fong
Head of Admissions

Mrs. Phebe Fong joined ICS in 2020 and oversees Admissions from Reception 1 to Grade 12. Her favorite part of this role is witnessing Christian education encourage students and their families to grow in their knowledge and love for God.

Her passion for education ignited when she worked for the NBA in Beijing. She supported migrant communities, participated in redevelopment efforts after the 2008 Sichuan Earthquake, and witnessed firsthand how education gave many children a second chance at life. Subsequently, Phebe pursued an MBA with the intention of scaling up community impact. She worked for IBM and LinkedIn before joining HKUST and CUHK Business Schools.

Phebe currently pursues a Master's in Educational Counseling to expand the depth and breadth of how she serves families. Together with her husband Chun-Man, who teaches PE at a fellow Christian international school, they enjoy spending time with their two young children.

Mrs. Gillian Wu joined ICS in 2012. She has been an early childhood educator for more than twenty years and has worked in a variety of different schools in both teaching and administrative roles before joining ICS.

Gillian believes that high-quality early childhood education forms a strong foundation for a child’s educational journey. She believes each child is unique and a gift from God, and being able to share the love of Jesus and partner with parents during the first few years of a child’s education is a privilege. She is married to Paul, and they have two adult children living in the UK.

Mrs. Erin Johnson

Mrs Erin Johnson has most recently been working in university administration as Director of Global Connections and as faculty. She has also served for more than 5 years in secondary education and over 12 years in elementary education, working at international schools in Indonesia, China, and Vietnam. She has held various leadership positions, from Academic Leadership Team, to Team Leader, to Head of Department. Erin holds a Master's Degree in Teaching and Bachelor's degrees in Communications and Spanish, as well as endorsements in Gifted Education and Structures of English Immersion. Erin and their two daughters join her husband, Jay, who teaches 4th grade at ICS.

Board of Trustees

In 1992, ICS was formed by six mission organizations as a limited liability company, International Christian Schools, Limited (ICSL), to create a Christian school using an US curriculum in an English medium of instruction. The ICSL currently includes the following mission organizations: The Conservative Baptist Foreign Mission Society, Culture Regeneration Research Society (Hong Kong) Ltd., Evangelical Free Church of China, The Free Methodist Church of Hong Kong, The International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention, and Wycliffe Bible Translators (Hong Kong).

Since its founding, ICS has been governed by a Board of Trustees composed of representatives drawn from the ICSL mission organizations and independent members, often parents with students attending the school. In carrying out its work, the Board considers the interests of students, parents, staff, supporting mission institutions, donors, community partners, and the ICSL member mission organizations. International Christian School is blessed with a committed Board of Trustees that has led ICS since its foundation.

Mr. Anthony Lo Board Chair

Mr. Anthony Lo holds an LLB and PCLL from the University of Hong Kong. Anthony was admitted as a solicitor in Hong Kong in 1984 and is currently a senior partner of a medium size law firm in Hong Kong. Anthony became a Christian in 1990 and is an alumni parent of 3 children in ICS. Anthony has been acting as board trustee since 2015 and is dedicated to promoting the welfare of ICS students and all other stakeholders.

Mr. Darius Yuen has been involved with the International Christian School since 2018, being a member of its Finance Committee. Darius is the founder of Sow (Asia) Foundation, a charity based in Hong Kong that helps the elderly, alleviates poverty, and saves the environment by supporting local social enterprises. Darius is also the founder and managing director of Zhong Yi Investment Managers Limited, a Type 4 & 9 Asset Manager licensed by the Securities and Futures Commission. Because of his contribution to charitable causes, he was named one of 48 Heroes of Philanthropy by Forbes in 2011. At school, he also organizes the weekly Faculty/Alumni/Dads basketball nights. Darius has two children, both attending ICS.

Mr. Andrew Ngo is both a Chartered Surveyor (Professional Member of Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) and a solicitor. Andrew is working as a consultant in a solicitors firm in Hong Kong. Andrew has served as a member of the Executive Committee of the Parents Association of ICS between 2009 and 2014 and a member of the School Management Committee of ICS since 2014. Andrew has three sons, two of whom are ICS Alumni. Andrew and his family are worshiping at St. Andrew’s Church, Tsim Sha Tsui.

Dr. George So is the Chairman of Foshan Coram Deo Technology Limited and Managing Director of Digi-Advance technology Limited. Dr. So holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in chemical engineering and a master’s degree in business administration; and an Honorary Doctorate in engineering management. Dr. So has been with Fortune 500 companies like Dow Chemical and Dupont company. In 2011, he left the company and set up his own business as an entrepreneur investing in start-up, art, and technology mix as well as doing consulting work for solar-related business. In his community service, Dr. So is also actively involved in both Christian and community services. He is the Chairman of the Unity of HK SME, Founding chairman of Hong Kong Innovation Association, chairman of the Guangdong -Hong Kong-Macau Bay Area business association, Foshan municipality, and Deputy Vice President of the Foshan business association. Dr. So is also the founding chairman of Family First Hong Kong and the Honorary President and Board member of the Full Gospel Businessmen Fellowship International (HK). From 2004 to 2010, Dr. So was appointed by the Innovation and Technology Commission of the SAR Government to become a member of the Hong Kong Accreditation Service Advisory Board. From 2011 to 2014, Dr. So was appointed as a member of the Innovation and Technology Committee of the Trade Development Council. In 2018, he was awarded one of China’s top ten innovative entrepreneurs. Dr. So has a wife with 3 children currently residing in Hong Kong.
Jonathan Luk commenced his finance professional career in a leading bank almost 30 years ago in Hong Kong. Since 2001, he joined one of the largest investor-owned power businesses in Asia Pacific and has held various senior positions in corporate finance, asset management, strategy & planning, project finance, business development, operations and risk management before taking on his current role as Director – Commercial & Development overseeing the commercial development of a zero-carbon power generation portfolio. Jonathan is a Chartered Financial Analyst and Certified Public Accountant, and he holds a Bachelor Degree of Business Administration. Jonathan became a Christian in 2007 and has been following Jesus as His disciple since then. He currently attends EFCC Jachin Church and serves in various positions including the Chairman of the Board of Deacons and adult disciple cell group leader. Jonathan, his wife and one child (attending ICS) are residing in Hong Kong.

Mr Kenneth Leung is an Accountant and has been working in governance roles with different financial institutions for over 20 years. Kenneth has served in the Parents Association of ICS since 2015 as Treasurer, Chairman, and Vice-Chairman. He has also served as a member of the School Management Committee of ICS since 2021. Kenneth has two children, both attending ICS since kindergarten.

Matthew A. Pine joined the International Christian School (ICS) Board of Trustees in 2023 and has served on the ICS Finance Committee since 2019. Matthew is married and is a father of three children who all study at ICS. Matthew serves as the Scoutmaster of the Scouts BSA Troop 412 affiliated with ICS. He is the co-founder of DADs Network, a charitable institution supporting fathers and father figures in Hong Kong. Mr Pine is the Deputy General Manager of Ma Wan Park and the Noah’s Ark Hotel & Resort. Before coming to Hong Kong, Matthew worked in Jerusalem, Israel producing media and working for reconciliation between Jews and Arabs. Matthew is from the United States and holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration from London Business School, Columbia Business School and The University of Hong Kong, as well as a degree in economics from the University of London and a degree in sustainable development.
Mr. Wai Keung KWOK has been a trustee of ICS since 2013 and is an institutional representative on the Board. He is a retired entrepreneur and has 2 adult children.
