ICS Students Spread Christmas Cheer and the Love of God Throughout Hong Kong

31 minute read | December 17, 2019

The saying around ICS is that the S stands for “Service to the community”. As Christians, there is no better time of year to put the needs of others first and tangibly show the love of God to the greater community of Hong Kong than by serving other people. Here’s a few examples of ICS students and faculty putting the love of Christ in action:

Christmas Project 2019

Kindergarten and Elementary School Shoeboxes - over 400 shoeboxes

- KG and ES students have prepared over 400 shoeboxes filled with gifts to bless the community.

ES Poinsettias - 80 Poinsettias

With an overwhelming response, over 80 poinsettias have ordered from within the ICS community. Some of them will be contributed to SAHK and Caritas special needs schools.

Middle School Care Packages - over 250 packs

- Middle School facegroup (discipleship groups) joined the Christmas Project and prepared over 250 care packages. These packages are hand delivered to elder homes, hospital and special needs schools.

Shoebox and Care Packages Delivery

Grade 5 - Shoebox Delivery to Kindergarten in Shek Mun

Grade 5 students delivered some of the boxes to Pario Kindergarten, a newly opened christian kindergarten in Shek Mun. Out of the 75 students they have, most of the students attend full day school live in Shek Mun Estates. What a wonderful way to connect with our neighbors and to bring them joy and love.

Middle School  Week Without Walls Art Studio - Hand-made Fleece Blankets

Middle School  Week Without Walls Art Studio students hand-made Christmas Fleece blankets during their weeklong service project. They were delivered to an elderly home by the students last week. These blankets  are sure to bring much warmth and love to elderly this winter.

Middle School Students visit and deliver CARE packages to elderly homes

Students in grades 6-8 took a christmas caroling trip and deliver the MS care packages to elderly homes this week. MS facegroups visited Lok Lin, an elderly home in Shek Kip Mei and the Salvation Army Lung Hang Residence in Shatin. Bless your hearts, MS students!

Middle School Choir  Performs Christmas carols and delivers shoebox presents to the Duchess of Kent Children's Hospital

The Middle School Choral group made a visit to the Duchess of Kent Children's Hospital at Sandy Bay on Hong Kong Island . Our students served the child patients and their families with their performance and blessed them with Christmas shoeboxes.

High School Service Advocates Club - visit and deliver presents to the Ronald McDonald House

High School Service Advocates Club students visited the Ronald McDonald House in Shatin, a "second home" for the seriously ill and injured children during medical treatments. Our students spent an afternoon decorating the facility and singing Christmas songs with the children and their families.
