On 6 September, the ICS High School Club Roots & Shoots arranged a beach cleanup near Sam Mun Tsai Village. Over 100 secondary school students participated in the cleanup efforts. The students did not solely pick up the trash at the beach; they recorded all items according to different categories on a trash data sheet and shared the data collected with Hong Kong Cleanup, an NGO which will organise and analyze the data and publish the results to educate the public, business and government officials about the scale and serious consequences of the global marine debris problem. What a sweaty yet meaningful service!
