Student Services Coordinator (Part-time)

Job Purpose

You will be joining a team of Christian professionals who will look for your expert your leadership and management for a variety of student services areas and functions including social emotional learning counseling, learning support, special education and healthcare services in order to provide a safe, welcoming and affirming environment for students in resolving educational and personal challenges that may impede their academic progress.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and oversight in the development of policies, procedures and operational school wellness initiatives, making certain they are effective and aligned with the school-wide policies and procedures.
  • Work closely with other departments (e.g. Curriculum & Instruction) in identifying concerns over students’ learning and emotional needs and implement individual education plans (IEPs).
  • Provide guidance on the TR referral process according to the Response to Intervention (RTI) model.
  • Provide clinical supervision regarding cases and skill development for the Student Services Division.
  • Implement in-dept case management and intervention services for students with multiple personal and life challenges. Support the needs of students and their families in distress.
  • Develop and conduct child safety and relevant training programs, presentations educational opportunities to faculty, staff and students.

Requirements

  • Holder of a Master degree in Student Services related field, Education or equivalent from accredited overseas universities. Graduate degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology is highly preferred.
  • At least 8 years’ relevant post-qualification experience with young people, preferably in an international school setting. Trained school counselor or school psychologist would be an advantage.
  • Experience in identifying student learning issues and extending strategies to teachers and providers for IEPs.
  • Be a highly credible ambassador for the school.  Warm collaborative nature, positive energy, enthusiastic and self-motivated, with a high level of personal integrity..
  • Genuine empathy and highly sensitive to students with learning and emotional needs.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills, including the ability to clearly communicate, interpret, explain and apply policies and procedures, assessment methods and results in non-technical language.
  • High level of interpersonal and collaboration skills. Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressured environment.
  • Highly organized, accurate and attentive to details with strong statistical skills.
  • A consideration of different cultural sensitivities and approaches to wellbeing, plus the utmost respect for confidentiality of service.
  • Be fully cognizant of the need to work outside normal school hours (after-school and weekends) as required.
