IT Support

Job Description

The job holder is responsible to provide timely and accurate technical support, diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software problems and help our end-users install applications and programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide general helpdesk support for hardware and software, email and mobile device, computer installation and set-up.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues, including account set-up and network configuration.
  • Walk through steps with end-users to resolve their technical problems.
  • Manage ticketed query system and ensure comprehensive database of queries and resolutions is kept up to date.  Ensure all issues are properly logged and provide accurate and timely reports.
  • Maintain and update technical documents and procedures.
  • Prepare maintenance plans and update maintenance schedules.
  • Support the implementation of new solutions or applications. 
  • Assist in ad-hoc IT-related projects.
  • Assist in IT asset inventory control.  

Requirements

  • Degree holder in Computer Science or equivalent is highly desirable.
  • Holder of industry recognized certificate and license are preferred.
  • At least 2 years of working knowledge and expertise with a variety of software, hardware, and applications. 
  • Good understanding of mobile devices and other tech products.
  • Knowledge on both MS Windows and Mac OS X environments.
  • Self-motivated, strong logical thinking and analytical skill to diagnose complicated problems and identify solutions.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.  Ability to translate end-users’ requirements.  Ability to clearly communicate, interpret, explain technical concept to technical and/or non-technical end-users at various levels. 
  • Extraordinary user friendly service and relationship building skill.
  • Ability to write clear and concise technical documentation.
  • Sound knowledge of current technology industry trends and developments, especially on the best practices of its deployment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of the office and student information is imperative.
  • Be fully cognizant of the need to work outside normal school hours (after-school and weekends) as required.
  • Fresh graduate with less experience may be considered.
