Job Description

The job holder is to build a brand ambassador and manage the day-to-day operation of Admissions & Student Services Office and to develop a cohesive team of professionals who can provide counsel, advice and expertise for the students, parents and faculty of the School.

Key Responsibilities


1.    To provide leadership for Admissions:

  • Develop and supervise the application/admissions/re-enrollment policies and procedures for R1 to G12. 
  • Develop and maintain the testing protocol for admission of students.
  • Perform testing of new students and conduct tests for which s/he is a qualified practitioner on campus. 
  • Supervise the marketing products such as admissions brochure/video/banner, deliver personalized school tours, and answer questions from perspective parents and students.
  • Develop a deep understanding of individual parent and student enrollment and academic needs. 
  • Qualify and convert enquires into firm applications.
  • Lead the orientation for new students and parents and oversee the transition programs for students and parents.
  • Oversee the retention, security and confidentiality of student enrollment records.
  • Plan and manage the resources and budget development.

2.    To provide leadership for Counselling and Student Services:

  • Establish and assess procedures and tasks within Student Services, making certain they are effective and aligned with the school-wide policies and administrative procedures.
  • Provide clinical supervision regarding cases and skill development for Student Services Division.
  • Direct and annually evaluate all personnel in the Student Services Division of the school.
  • Ensure the quality of learning support documentation.
  • Be a consultant for emotional and behavioral concerns with specific students.
  • Provide overall management and supervision of casework, referrals and crisis intervention.
  • Be available to provide emotional and spiritual counseling and teaching activities for students and their families.
  • Promote psychological health and wellness, and work on Health & Wellbeing initiatives.
  • Provide professional consultation and in-service training.
  • Plan and manage the resources and budget development.

3.    To provide oversight of the Special Education Program:

  • Oversee the development of IEPs within the school and supervise the administration of these in collaboration with the Lead Learning Support Teacher.
  • Work in collaboration with the office of Curriculum & Instruction to develop the Certificate of Completion for those students who cannot complete the graduation diploma.
  • Provide oversight to growth & development of the Special Education Program.

4.    To establish professional and community development opportunities:

  • Develop relationships with community professionals related to Student Services.
  • Train teachers and administrators in special needs workshops.
  • Support professional development for counselors and learning support teachers.

Qualification & Experience

  • Master degree in the Student Services related field, Education or equivalent from an accredited university.  Graduate degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology is highly preferred.
  • Trained school counselor or school psychologist would be an advantage. 
  • Certificate for administering tests is highly preferred.
  • At least 8 years’ relevant post-qualification experience with young people, preferably in an international school setting. 
  • Solid experience in admissions/registration or student services, including at least 2 years of supervisory experience. 
  • Solid experience in leading parent and student groups within a culturally diverse setting preferred.
  • Experience in identifying student learning problems and extending strategies to teachers and providers for individual education plans.

  • Be a highly credible ambassador for the school.  Positive, enthusiastic and self-motivated, with a high level of personal integrity.
  • High level of interpersonal, public relations, and collaboration skill that demonstrate the proven ability to build trusting relationships, establish and maintain effective and harmonious work relations with faculty and staff, students, parents and the general public.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills, including the ability to clearly communicate, interpret, explain and apply policies and procedures, assessment methods and results in non-technical language.
  • A consideration of different cultural sensitivities and approaches to wellbeing, plus the utmost respect for confidentiality of service.
  • Be confident to approach individuals and gather and retain large amount of information in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Highly organized, accurate and attentive to detail with strong statistical skills.  Good IT and administration skills in utilizing large database with high accuracy.
  • Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressured environment.
  • Supervisory skills in a team setting.
  • Willingness to maintain professional competency through professional development and networking.
  • Ability to teach classes in Student Services relevant topics.
  • Be fully cognizant of the need to work outside normal school hours (after-school and weekends) as required.
