Accounting Assistant (Temporary)

Job Purpose

You will be joining a community of Christian professionals who will welcome your can-do attitude, accounting knowledge with thoroughness and accuracy to operate accounting systems and maintain the daily account receivable functions of ICS.

This is a temporary opening from April to September 2022.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle and maintain billing and receivable functions, including but not limited to
    • setting up and maintaining accurate student records and payment information
    • processing and sending monthly billings of tuition and other fees to parents
    • updating daily receipt from autopay, PPS and checks records in systems
    • banking-in collections and reconciliations daily
    • following up overdue receivables
  • Assist in month-end closing
  • Process and issue school debenture, its transfer, redemption, or refunds. Prepare relevant accounting records and entry into the accounting system.
  • Keep and maintain good filing and record systems related to billing, collection and bank deposit.
  • Provide good customer service and prompt response to stakeholders and co-workers.

Qualification & Experience

  • Diploma or above in Accounting or related disciplines.
  • 2 years’ working experience in general accounting and handling receivable functions will be an advantage. 
  • Knowledge in accounting systems. Attentive to details and accuracy, with proven problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Good command of spoken and written English and Cantonese. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and in a professional manner. High level of integrity and a strong sense of responsibility.
  • Knowledge in MS Word/Excel applications. Ability to multitask and work under pressure and tight deadlines.
