Giving through Friends of Hong Kong Charities Inc. (FOHKC)

For extra flexibility with giving in Hong Kong Dollars or in US Dollars, FOHKC (a charity registered in both the US and in HK) offers an easy and efficient service. Contributions to FOHKC are tax deductible in both the US and HK. US citizens living in HK must pay taxes to both governments, thus, the tax relief that FOHKC offers can be significant. Some of the current charities registered with FOHKC include local churches and ministries, such as ECC, Island ECC, FCC, Community Church HK, Union Church, HK Korean Church, HK International School, Crossroads and Alpha Course HK.

 If you’d like to give through FOHKC, follow these easy steps:

1. For US citizens/residents who wish to have a US tax receipt, each donation must be at least US$100 (HK$800) and issued to “Friends of Hong Kong Charities Inc.” with nothing written on the lower left corner of the check.
   
2. Please specify your donation to be given to International Christian School on the back of the check; and mail to Ms. Christina Chau, at the Advancement Office.
   
3. The Advancement Office will forward checks to FOHKC, with a list detailing donors and checks received. FOHKC deposits checks and issues payment to ICS.
   
4. FOHKC will issue tax-deductible receipts (valid for both Hong Kong and the US) each quarter. Receipts will be mailed to each donor through ICS.
