Endowments Print

ICS is actively looking for ways to give as many children a chance for a quality education as possible.  One way is to set up endowments.  An endowment is money given by donors with the understanding that the funds are to be invested with a specific purpose that carries a long-term vision.

Endowment funds allow the donation to have a much greater impact over a long period of time because the principal investment typically remains intact and compounds interest over time.  In simpler terms - when a large amount of money is given, the receiving organization is able to fund projects through the accrued interest, providing stable and reliable income for long-term projects.

Endowment funds can be used for a variety of purposes, with the most common uses amongst schools being:

  • Scholarships
  • Teacher fellowships
  • Financial aid

Donors who contribute to endowment funds can specify areas in which their donations can be used after consulting with the Headmaster and Director of Advancement.

ICS is developing an endowment program with three or four categories already established.  If you are interested in learning more about endowments, please contact Amy Leung, Director of Advancement at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. It's true: your generous gift could help many students over many years.
