Week Without Walls (WWW)
WWW is a week long off-campus learning experience designed to challenge students physically, emotionally, intellectually, and spiritually to produce a greater awareness of the outside world, their place in it, and the challenge that Christ brings to us to change it.  Many students stay in Hong Kong to for their experience, but other groups have previously gone to Indonesia, Philippines and China.  For more details, please see ‘Service to the Community’

Student Council
The purpose of the Student Council is to represent, lead and serve the students of ICS, to enrich the academic, social and Christian life of the school, to promote outreach to the community, and to seek to foster communication between students and teachers/administrators.  Representatives are elected by their peers to represent grade levels in the Student Council meetings.

  • Intramurals

Students participate in activities such as Basketball, Soccer, Volleyball, Badminton, Table Tennis and Ball Hockey

  • Competitive Sports Program

ICS students compete in the International School Sports Federation of Hong Kong (ISSFHK), a league comprised of various international schools in Hong Kong.  Sports offered are: Cross country, volleyball, swimming, soccer, basketball, tennis, ball hockey, badminton, track & field and softball.  Each sport features exciting league competition that culminates with playoffs and a championship tournament event held at the end of each respective sports season.  ICS also competes in the HKSSF in a single Championship held annually for Girls and Boys Swimming.

ICS hosts annual tournaments and large tournaments throughout the year. 

Music Groups 

  • Brass Ensemble
  • Woodwind Ensemble
  • Jazz Band

This extra-curricular ensemble provides students the opportunity to play fun and exciting music in a smaller ensemble.  We play advanced and varied repertoire and styles, including Jazz, Latin, Funk, Fusion, Rock, Pop, and Show Tunes.  It is open to anyone playing a traditional jazz band instrument (saxophone, trumpet, trombone, piano, bass, guitar, percussion) or anyone willing to learn one of these as a second instrument.  Students wanting to join with a non-traditional jazz band instrument (flute, clarinet, French horn, baritone, tuba, or others) are welcome with director’s approval.   

  • Madrigals

This singing group is for advanced singers in Middle School who like to sing and want to perform in a small group.  Singers must audition to take part.  

Worship Team
The Worship Team is dedicated to lead the MS in worship.  They are responsible for all aspects of the worship for the chapel including selecting music, preparing PowerPoint, rehearsals, etc.  The team also meets for occasional training, prayer meetings and lunch rehearsals. 

Drama Club 

  • Fall—A comedy of the director’s choice (Shakespeare)
  • Spring—A musical of the director’s choice  

Art Club 
Students will engage in the production of Art projects beyond their regular art studies. 

Newspaper Club
Students apply their knowledge of the “6+1 Traits of Writing” outside the classroom in a journalism setting.  They use events and topics both inside and outside their school walls to write about items they are passionate about to continue to build their love for writing, as well as their effectiveness as modern day writers.  This club is open to all MS students, but members need to fill out an interest sheet, showing their strengths in writing, formatting and producing a paper.  Some students will have the opportunity to not only report and write, but to use technology to enhance the presentation of the paper. 

Chinese Club
This group is an opportunity for students to experience Chinese language and cultural activities in a new and exciting way.  Students prepare for competitions, help plan Cultural Day and go on trips to learn about Chinese culture.  

Chinese Gas Station
All students who take Chinese courses are welcome to attend this weekly time of speaking, playing games and interacting in Mandarin. 

Scrabble Club
Members join by playing one game.  Scores are recorded and tallied year round.  A trophy will be given to the one who has top points in May.
