Renaissance raises $3 million

With the grace of our almighty God, the Renaissance Banquet 2012 held on March 9 and 10 was a tremendous success. With prayers, hard work, efforts and time, we have raised almost $3 million from the event.  About 500 students, over 100 parent volunteers and many faculty and support staff participated in banquets.  We thank all of you for your contributions and most of all, your heart for ICS.

A total of more than 900 guests on both nights enjoyed a stunning performance.  Students sang madrigals, played court music, and performed breathtaking gymnastics on the stage and trapeze.  Guests were amazed and touched by the many talents of our students.

Our students’ wide variety of talents were broadcast to the Hong Kong community! To read the articles on the 2012 Renaissance Banquet written in Young Post and Sing Tao Daily, click here.

Annual Charity Golf Tournament May 10, 2012

The 8th ICS Annual Charity Golf Tournament on May 10 was a great success. Around 70 guests enjoyed a great day of golfing and sunshine at the Clearwater Bay Golf and Country Club,. Champion of the day went to Point Well Investment Ltd. Three ICS students - Ambrose Tam (G9), Shanice Lam (G7) and Lucas Lam (G9) – joined other donor players to make up the flights.

ICS students performed well in the event, earning them a number of category awards. Besides playing great golf, our guests also listened to Lucas’ testimony and were entertained by the music performances by Emmanuel Hui and Elliot Leung (both G11).

The event raised a total of $649,000 for the school’s Capital Fund.  We’d like to thank all our guests for their participation and generous donations.

Thanks to all generous donors, the 10th Walkathon and Fall Festival successfully raised HK$1.3M to support financially deserving families at ICS. Ov

er 1,000 people participated in the event on October 22. They worshipped and praised the Lord in song at Shatin Central Park before the walk began. While walkers enjoyed the excitement of taking a new route from Shatin Central Park to school, their smiles and laugher made the 4km walk a delightful journey to finish. The fun-packed Fall Festival started immediately after the walk ended at the Shek Mun Campus. It was all fun at the festival where students, parents, alumni, staff and ICS friends caught up, played games, munched yummy food, and checked out the many interesting sales booths.

Mooncake Drive, September 2011

The ICS community has once again demonstrated its generosity at the Mid-Autumn Festival Mooncake Drive. The community donated HK$100,000 towards the purchase of mooncakes and part of the donation was given to the needy through the St. Barnabas’ Society & Home. In addition to donating money, around 40 ICS students, parents, teachers and administrative staff distributed mooncakes to the needy people living in Western District on September 6. The ICS team also wished them a happy Mid-Autumn Festival.

Annual Charity Golf Tournament, March 4, 2011

Organized for the seventh time, the ICS Annual Charity Golf Tournament has become a favorite event to raise money for the school’s Capital Fund. This year, the tournament was another great success and raised over $600,000 for the school.

The tournament had the best ever player turnout with more than 90 golfers joining, among them more than 70% were first-timers. Participants enjoyed the sunny weather and delicious food of the day at the Clearwater Bay Golf and Country Club while PGA golfer and experienced coach Mr. Todd Howard demonstrated golfing skills and offered professional advice to his fellow golfers at the tournament. It was an additional delight that participants listened to parent testimonies after a day of great golfing.

Special Needs Fundraiser Narnia Movie Show, Dec 11, 2010

We organized a fundraiser for the school’s special needs program in December which collected a total of HK$560,000. To show our appreciation, complimentary movie tickets were given to the generous donors for watching the 3-D movie The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader on December 11, 2010. About 280 guests including donors, friends of donors, parents, alumni, alumni parents, faculty and support staff watched the movie and experienced a journey with the two youngest Pevensie children Lucy and Edmund, their cousin Eustace Scrubb, and the Talking Mouse Reepicheep. The adventure went on in search of Aslan's country at the end of the world where dangers were encountered, wonders experienced, and obstacles overcome.
