ICS has been accredited since 1995 through the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), a major American accreditation agency operating in California and the Asia-Pacific region.  ICS continues to maintain its accreditation with WASC, pursuing excellence through a system of on-going school-wide assessment.

WASC requires ICS to complete a thorough process of self-evaluation and external review to ensure its programs meet best practice standards for an English-language school with an American-based curriculum.  As part of this process, a leadership team of representatives of the schools major stakeholders (parents, students, staff, administrators, Board/School Management Committee members) develops an Action Plan to identify needs and key growth areas for the school.

ICS has been a member of the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) since 1992 and has recently completed a rigorous self study gaining ACSI accreditation for the next six years, in addition to the WASC accreditation.  ACSI was founded in 1978, is based in Colorado Springs and has 18 regional offices around the world. It is widely recognized by colleges, thus improving ICS students’ opportunity to gain college placement.

Mid-Term Accreditation Visit - March 2010

Accreditation plays a vital role in providing credibility and legitimacy for schools. Unbiased third-party groups evaluate and assess areas including governance, curriculum, assessment mechanisms, and more. ICS is fully accredited for a full term of 6 years by two agencies: the Association of Christian School International (ASCI) and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).

As part of the accreditation process, a mid-term review occurs where representatives visit to check up on how the school is progressing in its School Improvement Plan. In March 2010, ICS received two representatives from ACSI and WASC for the mid-term assessment. ICS received unprecedented results, with no recommendations other than to continue the fantastic work that is already being done!
